AstraLite Motion-Sensor Recessed Stair Light, Four Finish Options

Designed for stairs, hallways and landings, the AstraLite is a recessed footlight that gives light at the moment it is needed, then remains dark and discreet otherwise. Its shade is made of clear acrylic and fits over a plastic body in white, black, silver or gold, so the unit melds into the wall rather than drawing attention. Thanks to 10 LEDs, every fixture spreads an even glow across approximately 10-15 m² (108-161 sq ft).

Thanks to a PIR motion sensor, walking down a dark stairway becomes a little safer and far less awkward.

Features

• Recessed, flush-mount design — sits low and neat against walls and stair risers rather than protruding.
• PIR motion sensing — switches on automatically as you approach, reducing trip hazards on dark stairs with no need to touch a switch.
• 10-LED array — strong, uniform light that reaches roughly 10-15 m² (108-161 sq ft), a good fit for a staircase or short hallway.
• Wide voltage range — operates on 90-260V, so it can be installed wherever your home's wiring falls within that range.
• Two color temperatures — Warm White gives a snugger glow, while Cold White offers a sharper, brighter look.

Fitting it

Most confident DIYers can handle the wiring without fuss; otherwise, an electrician can fit it within minutes.

Technical details

FAQs

Will it switch on by itself?
With Sensor mode selected, yes: the integrated PIR detector activates it when you approach and turns it off after you pass. If you want constant light, pick the Normal mode option.

How large an area does a single light cover?
Every fixture suits roughly 10-15 m² (108-161 sq ft), enough for a stair tread, landing or short stretch of hallway.

How do the single and 4-piece options differ?
Only the quantity differs: the 4-piece set bundles four identical fixtures, which is useful when you are lighting an entire staircase in a single order.

Can I choose the light colour?
Yes, whichever finish you choose, Warm White or Cold White is available to suit your current hallway or stairwell lighting.
